Social transformation of Project Douradinho in CTG Brasil

In 2021, CTG Brasil sponsors Project Douradinho which focuses on environmental education for teenagers.

The project brings us the book Amiga Lata, Amigo Rio (Goldfin’s Can in English), which deals with environmental education and river preservation. It is used as a tool to encourage reading and environmental education. The key themes of the book are crafted in training for educators in the public education network, who also receive copies of the book for distribution in schools, suggestions for practical activities to be carried out with students, and the pedagogical project to be developed in schools. At the end of the training, meetings will be promoted between readers and the author of the book, Thiago Cascabulho. The book was translated into Chinese and is available on website of the project.

In addition to reading, the project aims to encourage the implementation of impact actions in schools, such as the creation of school composters, recycling projects, rainwater collection, with participation of community.

With the support of CTG Brasil, Project Douradinho will carry out activities in 18 municipalities in the regions where the company operates, benefiting around 4,440 students and their public-school educators, with preference for rural areas in the municipalities.

The project has been carried out since 2002 and has visited more than 300 municipalities in 18 states, held 500 meetings with the author and had around 90,000 copies distributed. In 2020, the project had an innovation: the creation of School Douradinho, an environmental education platform that will house other socio-environmental projects. Several videos of this new front are already available online, including a cartoon, and soon a new book about the oceans (Moon, Necklace, Coral, Sea) will be released.
