Intercultural actions for better integration in CTG Brasil
CTG Brasil has cultural diversity in its DNA. It is believed that the power of cultural integration is really important, and always encourages the teams to share knowledge, experiences and customs from different cultures. In terms to strengthen the cultural integration between the Brazilian and Chinese teams, the People and Culture area of CTG Brasil has planned a series of intercultural actions from various aspects for 2021.
Buddy Program:
As you might know from the our previous communications, the Buddy Program aims to assist new Chinese employees during their first year in Brazil, helping them through the initial transition phase and also provide necessary support in daily life, so that they get adapt themselves faster and better in Brazil. After the buddies are matched, the People and Culture area will carry out a number of events to enrich the experience exchanging between our buddies, such as webinars on the importance of cultural intelligence and team building activities.
Workshops and trainings on cross-cultural communication and management:
CTG Brasil also prepared a full range of workshops and trainings to help our Brazilian and Chinese colleagues to know better about each other’s culture and work as a unified team with trust and respect. For Brazilian employees, CTG Brasil is collaborating with the Confucius Institute in Sao Paulo to elaborate a course regarding Cultural Diversity in China, which brings knowledge about China from several dimensions to our Brazilian colleagues. There will also be workshops on cross-cultural management and Chinese etiquette for our Brazilian colleagues. For our Chinese colleagues, there will be a series of workshops presenting about the Brazilian cultural mindset, history, values, behaviors and etiquette, helping our Chinese colleagues to understand about cultural differences and similarities between Brazil and China, and how to do business in Brazil. We believe that these knowledges will be very useful for every employee working in this environment of cultural diversity and will help build great rapport among our people.
Language Courses:
Language is a key to open the door to a different culture. To promote interaction between theour Brazilian and Chinese colleagues and facilitate the communication between them, CTG Brasil is organizing language classes for its our employees: “Basic Mandarin” course for our Brazilian colleagues, and” Portuguese for Survival” course for our Chinese colleagues. Both our Brazilian and Chinese professionals will be able to learn about the basics of writing, listening, speaking and many useful expressions of each other’s language. Isn’t it great?
Chinese and Brazilian traditional festival celebrations:
Traditional festivals are an important part of culture, and by celebrating the Chinese and Brazilian traditional festivals together, people in the company become closer.we bring our people even closer . In the past years, CTG Brasil always organized commemorations of traditional festivals of both countries such as Chinese Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Brazilian June Festival etc, with typical decorations and food degustation activities in the offices, as well as internal communications introducing about histories and traditional customs of each festival.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we won’t be able to celebrate the festivals with everyone in person for now, but internal communication channels such as E-mail and Intranet will be used to the fullest to continue with our celebrations and strengthen cultural exchange.
