Last month, CTG Brasil sponsored the first edition of Rio Canoas State Park (PAERC) Biodiversity Exhibition in Santa Catarina, where the Garibaldi HPP is located. According to the Santa Catarina Environment Institute and GRIMPEIRA (Araucarias State Park Management Support Group in English), during the 5 days of the event, 1,390 visitors passed through the park, of which 1,056 were students from public and private schools in the region and 334 were visitors.
.
"On behalf of the Santa Catarina Environment Institute and GRIMPEIRO, we thank the support and sponsorship from Enercan (Campos Novos Energia S.A) and CTG Brasil (Garibaldi HPP) for the realization of this project. Your involvement was fundamental in making the event a success. A small project aimed at addressing the need to show the general public how diverse our ecosystem is has become one of the biggest attractions of the week", says Thays Bragagnolo Casal of the Conservation Unit Management Support Group. It is important to note that this group was funded by CTG Brasil through Garibaldi HPP environmental compensation resources.
.
The project brought high visibility from public agencies and, therefore, gained more and more support during the days of the event. The action, and many others, were essential to promote environmental education and to bring social groups closer to the Rio Canoas State Park and the predominant ecosystem in our region.
"It is a pleasure for us to be able to participate and contribute to projects like this. I am sure that all the people who visited the exhibition had the opportunity to learn a little more about the regional flora and fauna, as well as enjoy the conserved nature of PAERC", says Ronan Max Prochnow from the Environment team of CTG Brasil.
